“I believe it is vital to find
the cause and treat the cause".

What to Expect at HCMC

Healing Choice Massage & Concussion Care uses a range of proven, therapeutic techniques with a systematic, science-based approach designed to deliver results.
As a healthcare professional, I look beyond the muscles alone. During treatment, I focus on your musculoskeletal system, lymphatic system, fascia, and brain, tailoring every treatment to address the root cause of your concerns—not just the symptoms. I believe that identifying and treating the cause is essential for long-lasting results.
My myofascial massage therapy approach helps create space in the body, allowing tissues to release, circulation to improve, and the nervous system to regulate—promoting deep healing from the inside out.
Treatment Day Tips:

-
You don’t always need to be undressed to receive effective care. Please wear or bring comfortable clothing, such as shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. During nice weather socks are still needed, no bare feet are permitted for obvious health and safety reasons.
-
Avoid using lotion before your appointment, as it can affect the effectiveness of myofascial work.

I have completed advanced training that enhances my myofascial approach, including a specialized manual therapy called Dynamic Brain Healing®©. This method is especially valuable for the 20% of people who don’t fully recover within a few weeks after a concussion. It is also recommended for those who have tried everything yet still aren't experiencing optimal results and continue to struggle with their health.

For optimal brain recovery, I recommend combining this manual therapy with a targeted nutritional protocol. In many cases, the 20% who don't fully recover are held back to underlying nutritional deficiencies.

What to Expect After Treatment

A mild inflammatory response may occur after a fascial massage. This is a normal and essential part of the healing process. It allows the body to bring in nutrients, special cells needed to clean up and rebuild the connective tissue and collagen fibers that make up the fascia.
Following treatment, you may experience pain, swelling, or bruising. You might also notice sensations such as muscle twitches, pulsating, or heat as blood returns to chronically undernourished areas. Sometimes, discomfort may appear in other areas of the body where you did not previously feel pain—this typically resolves within 2–5 days.
If you experience discomfort or have concerns after your treatment, please contact me directly by text so we can discuss the best way to support your recovery.

REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPIST

Donna C. Henry, RMT
With over 19 years of clinical experience, Donna is a Registered Massage Therapist specializing in concussion therapy, chronic pain, and fascia treatments. A proud graduate of the accredited Sutherland-Chan School & Teaching Clinic in Toronto, she has worked extensively with athletes, injury rehabilitation, and complex conditions.
Donna is certified in Dynamic Brain Healing®©, a proven Manual Myofascial Therapy system that helps the 20% of individuals who don’t heal from traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) within the typical recovery window. This technique has allowed her to successfully treat not only TBIs but also chronic pain, nerve pain, and other trauma-related conditions, achieving life-changing results for clients of all ages.
She has experience treating individuals with neurological disorders, cancer, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and high-risk pregnancies. Her expertise extends to conditions such as piriformis syndrome (sciatica), disc herniations, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, and frozen shoulder. Her approach integrates Swedish Massage Techniques, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, and the Manual Fascial Therapy, known as Dynamic Brain Healing.®©
For over seven years, Donna built a strong client base in Milton, providing continuity of care and personalized treatment plans. After relocating to Burlington, many of her loyal clients followed her and waited for her return after a serious car accident in 2019.
Having personally battled persistent TBI symptoms for over four years—enduring chronic nerve pain, head and neck pressure, constant dizziness and extreme fatigue—Donna was told by specialists she would likely live with these symptoms indefinitely. In June 2023, she discovered the manual fascia treatment that ultimately restored her health. Now fully recovered, pain-free, and thriving, she is dedicated to helping others heal from TBIs, chronic pain, PTSD, and trauma. She achieves success with her clients by combining her love of Registered Massage Therapy, Myofascial Massage and the Manual Fascial Treatment that restored her health.
Outside the clinic, Donna enjoys time with family, friends, and her sweet dog, Abbie. She also has a side gig as a bartender for MLSE, serving at Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors games, as well as concerts.
